The Glorious Mysteries are the "happy ending" that is actually a new beginning. We pray them on Wednesdays and Sundays. They lift our eyes from earth to heaven.

1. The Resurrection

The Event: Christ rises from the dead on the third day. The Fruit/Virtue: Faith. Meditation: The tomb is empty. Death has been conquered. No matter how dark my life gets, Sunday is coming. Scripture: "He is not here; for he has risen, as he said." (Matthew 28:6)

2. The Ascension

The Event: Jesus returns to the Father 40 days after Easter. The Fruit/Virtue: Hope. Meditation: He goes to prepare a place for me. He takes human nature into the Trinity. I have a Man on the throne of God. Scripture: "I go to prepare a place for you." (John 14:2)

3. The Descent of the Holy Spirit

The Event: Pentecost. The Room fills with wind and fire. The Fruit/Virtue: Love of God / Zeal for Souls. Meditation: The frightened Apostles are transformed into bold martyrs. The Spirit turns fear into fire. Scripture: "And they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak in other tongues." (Acts 2:4)

4. The Assumption of Mary

The Event: Mary is taken up body and soul into heaven at the end of her life. The Fruit/Virtue: Grace of a Happy Death. Meditation: She is the "Ark of the New Covenant." The Ark cannot rot in the ground. She follows her Son in all things, including victory over the grave. Scripture: "Arise, O Lord, impo your resting place; you and the ark of your strength." (Psalm 132:8)

5. The Coronation of Mary

The Event: Mary is crowned Queen of Heaven and Earth by the Trinity. The Fruit/Virtue: Trust in Mary's Intercession. Meditation: She is not a distant Queen; she is the Queen Mother (Gebirah). In the Davidic kingdom, the King's mother advocated for the people. She advocates for me. Scripture: "A great sign appeared in heaven: a woman clothed with the sun, with the moon under her feet, and on her head a crown of twelve stars." (Revelation 12:1)
