Loving Lord, we know that deep in the heart of every man there is a yearning for peace. The nations try in vain to forge peace initiatives, peace plans and peace treaties, and yet we know that in this world there will be no peace until the Lord Jesus Christ, the Prince of Peace Himself, returns from His place in heaven - where even now, He is seated at the right hand of the Father. We thank You that Your Word tells us that in this world we will have tribulation and times of war until that glorious future day when Jesus comes to reign on earth as our heavenly King of kings, Lord of lords and Prince of Peace. In that day, the earth will be filled with the glory of God as the waters cover the sea. And so Lord, as we live our heartfelt plea to You for peace in this troubled world, we know that the only true world peace will come through our Lord Jesus Christ, when He returns to set up His kingdom of peace, over which He will rule for 1000 years, until He has put under His feet all the enemies of peace and love and hope and joy. But Lord in the meanwhile, we are to live in a fallen world that is lying in the power of the evil one, and so we pray that we may take up the shield of faith and the sword of the Spirit, which is the Word of God and stand fast in this evil day. Loving Lord, our hearts are crying out for peace in the world, and yet we know that Scripture has told us that throughout this church age and beyond, and until the Lord Jesus Himself returns to set up His Millennial kingdom, there will be no peace in this world. Rather, there will be wars and rumours of wars, which will cause humanity to cry out for peace, peace when there is no peace. Help us to understand that there will be no peace until that time when Jesus returns to earth as the Prince of Peace, at the end of the coming tribulation period. Lord, I long for peace and indeed I pray for peace in this world but Father, I do not want to pray against the plans and purposes which You have set by Your divine decree. Help me to pray intelligently as I see the people of the world crying out for peace, peace, when the world can never provide the peace that this world longs for. I recognise that the nations of the world have almost unanimously turned their backs on You Lord Jesus, and that the time of judgement, about which we read in Scripture, is growing ever closer. Father, we know that You have purposed that grace comes before judgement and we also know that the coming judgement of the world is to demonstrate Your mighty power to the nations, so that the nations will know that You are the Lord. Father, I pray that many, many men and women will turn to You during this coming time of tribulation, about which we read in Revelation. Thank You that Your children, the Church, will be taken to heaven before this terrible time of Jacob�s trouble begins, but Lord have mercy and save a great multitude without number so that in the ages to come that great multitude of believing men and women will live in peace and safety, in the kingdom of Your dear Son. Dear Lord�Jesus�it seems that the problems and anxieties of life that I am going through, always seem to multiply and magnify during the night time hours. Help me never to forget that You have promised to be with me � even in the darkest times. Thank You that Jesus is my Saviour and has promised to be with me throughout the long,�night time�hours. Loving Father, my husband has divorced me and I am so full of pain and sadness. I went into my marriage for better or worse, for richer or poorer, in sickness or in health, and expected it to continue until death parted us, but the emotional and economic strains on our marriage became so heavy that it caused us to separate and finally to divorce. Although my husband took the decision to divorce, against my desire, I admit that some of the fault must lie at my door too.Lord, I know that divorce is hateful to You and certainly not Your will for any of Your children, for You made man and woman to join them together in marriage as one, just as Christ Jesus is joined together with the Church as one, and I feel that having gone through this divorce is a violation of Your will for my life. Feelings of guilt keep coming into my heart and I have even thought that my part in the divorce would cause You to reject me as Your child. But Lord I know that the Bible tells me that all my sins, including any that are connected with my divorce, were all forgiven at the cross, even any future sins that I may commit, were all dealt with by the blood of Christ Jesus my Saviour.Thank You, Lord, that I am Your child. Remove any lingering doubts I pray, and fill my heart with Your joy and peace. Heal my pain and sadness and thank You Lord, that nothing in heaven or earth can separate me from the Love of God that is in Christ Jesus my Lord, including my divorce, for which I praise Your name. Dear God, I know that I have fallen into deep sin. I have sinned against You and discredited Your holy name. I confess that I have done wrong, and I come to You empty handed and in poverty of spirit, knowing that my comfort and peace can only come from You.Thank You for Your promise that if I come to You and confess all my wrongdoings and sins, You have promised to forgive me and cleanse all my unrighteousness. Dear Lord God, what a great comfort it is to know that You are sovereign, and that You are in charge of all that is going on in a world that seems to be getting increasingly evil and cruel.Thank You, that You know the end from the beginning, and nothing that is taking place in our lives has taken You by surprise. Loving Heavenly Father, thank You for saving me, thank You for Jesus. Thank You, for dying for me on the cross and for bringing me into Your family. I love You Lord, and long that my own dear husband would also come to faith in You. Father, my husband is so disinterested in anything to do with Jesus and being saved. He does not understand the terrible consequences of dying in his sins and of not having Jesus as his Saviour. He thinks it is cute that I am a � saved cutie� as he calls it, and is quite happy for me to go to church. But Lord, it disturbs me that he is so disinterested. Convict him, Lord, of his sin and his need for a Saviour. Convict him of the terrible consequences of falling under God�s wrath. Lord, I pray that You would turn his heart to the Lord Jesus and Father, I know that it is a dangerous prayer to pray, but Lord, please do WHATEVER it takes draw my husband into Your arms of forgiveness. Almighty God our heavenly Father, You have established the world so that it cannot be moved, set in motion the paths of the wind and caused the waters to bow to Your command. You are a mighty God Who sets us kings and removes leaders. We pray for the peace among the nations of the world and the rule of law to be established by the governments of the world. Loving Heavenly Father, it seems that more and more people are becoming increasingly anxious about what is going on in the world today and what is likely to happen, both within our own nations and further afield. There are may conspiracy theories on one hand and a lot of hype on the other, which seem deliberately designed to cause people to become anxious and afraid. I know that You are not a God of disorder or fear, but a God of peace and love, but I also know that the Bible tells us that as we get closer to the return of the Lord Jesus for His church, men�s hearts will start to fail, for fear of what is coming on the earth. Lord Jesus, I am Your child and I know that my strength and comfort is in You. I know that You will never leave me nor forsake me, no matter what happens in this world. Keep me I pray from anxious thoughts, and prevent my heart from fearing what is coming on the world, knowing that my citizenship is in heaven with You, and knowing that the day is fast approaching when You will come to take us to be with Yourself in our heavenly home, where we will be with You forever. Dear God, You know the ongoing difficulties that I have had with my pregnancy - morning sickness and other ailments that seem to have shadowed this pregnancy from the moment that I conceived. I know that there is pain and problems that are connected with the joy of having a baby, and I don't want it to appear that all I am doing complaining of feeling ill - when my heart is rejoicing that I am carrying this precious little life within me. I ask that You would prevent me from having any more complications and illnesses as the time passes and give me the grace and strength I pray, to carry this baby to full term - with a spirit of joy and thanksgiving. Father, I come before You today as I feel weighed down by the increasing numbers of burdens and battles, stresses and strains that seem to be building up in my life.Lord, I know that You are faithful and true, and I pray that You would take from me each and every heavy burden that I am carrying today, just as You have promised. Lord, I give You each stressful situation, each hurtful word and every difficult circumstance of life that seems to be bearing down so heavily upon me.You have said in Your Word that Your yoke is easy and Your burden is light and that when I cast all my cares upon You and lay all my burdens down at Your feet, I will find rest for my soul. Lord, I need that rest now, for I am weary and heavy-laden, but I am looking to You for my trust is in You.Enable me to rest beside Your still waters of refreshment and sleep in Your arms of comfort. Father, I thank You for the opportunity to take a holiday and be enabled to have a complete break from the daily rounds and the many responsibilities and routines that govern our lives. It is such a joy to have this break, and I pray that it will be a time of rest and refreshment where I am enabled to go quietly through the day without having to plan for the many �workaday� things that have become the norm in my busy daily schedule. I pray that during this holiday, I will enjoy both spiritual and physical renewal, and find rejuvenating rest for my mind and spirit as well as enjoy relaxation and respite for my body as well. Dear God, It�s difficult to fully let go of our anxiety, or the world around us when we can�t see evidence of all that you�re doing � when we can�t understand or see your purpose or plan. Today, we pause and remind ourselves of our dependency on you, for we know in our hearts that our circumstances and futures are touched by your hands. Isaiah 55:8 reminds us that our thoughts are not your thoughts � and that our ways are not your ways. When we are struggling to see clearly and make decisions, we are not alone and that inner peace is something only you can supply. So today Lord, we purposefully, even urgently, say again that we choose to believe in you. We know that it�s often in the most challenging times that you are most at work. Thank you for being the one who gives us the strength to help each other and to see distinctly the choices we face. As we scan our personal horizons, we know that we also must look to you alone for the power and possibility that is our future. We ask for your guidance so that we might walk fully in your path � a path that you have blessed. We also ask for your face to shine on us � individually, and as a team of colleagues and partners. Please bring to fulfillment all that you have given us to do in the weeks ahead. Give us a heart of wisdom to hear your voice; and then make our footsteps firm. Dear God, I am crying out to you in my loss and deep grief. I am confused and don�t understand why my life seems to be in such turmoil and pain, but I look to You for comfort and strength to see me through.My eyes are looking to You Lord Jesus, and I am praying that I might understand why this terrible tragedy has hit. Father, how I thank You that Jesus is my good Shepherd and is there to comfort and strengthen in times of suffering, sadness, pain and loss. Thank You, that Your rod and staff sustain and keep me, no matter what season of life I am passing through and no matter how difficult the times become. I praise You Lord, for You are my strong tower, into Whose everlasting arm I flee for protection and safety, for You have pledged to uphold me with the right hand of Your righteousness. Eternal Father, You created us in Your own image and likeness, but sin has warped the minds of men and throughout the world there is much injustice and much carelessness of the rights of other people and personal responsibility. Lord when You are excluded from the hearts and consciences of men, the inevitable result is that people suffer and Lord, there is much injustice and corruption taking place in our world today, not only in the lives of individuals but also in the corridors of power and the council rooms of many nations. Loving Father, we are called to pray for the peace of Jerusalem and Lord, we do pray that Your peace would one day soon descend upon that city of Jerusalem and spread across the whole nation of Israel, until the world is filled with the glory of God as the waters cover the sea. But Father, we know that there will be no peace in that land, nor indeed in any of the nations of the world, until the Lord Jesus comes to reign as King of kings, Lord of lords and Prince of Peace. And so Lord we pray Maranatha, Come Lord Jesus, come Thou long expected Jesus, come to set Your people free, come and to set up Your promised rule on earth, for Lord, we know that without You there can be no peace on earth and only an increase in the ragings of the nations against Your people Israel and Your holy city of Jerusalem. The nations are increasingly raging against Your people and Your land, and Father we know that nothing can bring peace on earth, except the return of the Lord Jesus Christ to take up His rightful position as King of Israel and Saviour of the World. Father, we pray that while there is still time that many may come to know and trust the Lord Jesus as the one and only Prince of Peace, both in the land of Israel and throughout the world. Father, I repent of the years that I have wantonly wasted. It seems that I return to you most easily when I need comfort, O God.Hello� here I am again, knowing that you are waiting for me with love and warming light.In the shadow of your wings I find respite and relief that feeds my innermost self and renews my soul. Day and night, you are my refuge. These uncertain days of news conferences and quarantines tempt me to assume the worst for my loved ones, myself and my community. �Pandemic� is a frightening word, and I can easily feel confused or helpless to respond. Now I am relying on you to lead and guide me, to put my anxiety in its place. Help me see it as a human response that keeps me conscious of the seriousness of this moment, but do not let it overwhelm my spirit. Buoyed by your love, I choose each day to let peace reign in me. Breathing deeply of your calm, I repeat, again and again, �You are here.� Good and gracious Companion, my family and friends need tranquility and assurance. Help me to offer them your tenderness. Dear Lord Jesus, my mother is getting increasingly frail and weak and it is distressing to see her becoming so infirm and helpless. Comfort her I pray, as she lies on her bed of sickness, and give her Your perfect peace in her heart. I ask that You would send comfort and support to all those that love You, and may this time of illness be a time that draws each member of the family back into a closer walk with Jesus.Thank You for my mother and for all that she means to me. Lord Jesus, I know that You are close to those that are broken-hearted and grieving in their soul and that You rescue those that are crushed in spirit. Draw near to Your many children who are facing times of sadness and loss, and draw each one ever closer into Your precious arms of love and support. Thank You that You are wonderfully good to all who wait for You and seek You, and I pray that those of my brothers and sisters in Christ who, for whatever reason, are facing times of grief and hardship in their lives, that in Your grace and mercy You would draw very close to each one and gently carry them on Your shoulders, as a Shepherd carries a little lamb that has been torn by the briars. Be close to all that are grieving today I pray, and flood their souls with hope, knowing that underneath are Your everlasting arms. Give me a heart that is sensitive to those that are grieving, the wisdom to know when to speak words of comfort or when to keep silent. And Lord, I also pray that You would use my life to be a channel of encouragement and hope, through whom the peace of the Lord Jesus Christ will flow into their hearts, to heal and help. Thank You, Lord, that You are a God that answers prayers. Amen.
Dear Lord Jesus, so many children around the world have become orphaned or abandoned for so many different reasons, and have never known the love of a mother or father for them. Lord, I know that You care for all people. but You have a special heart for little children and orphans.�Watch over these children and young people, I pray. Comfort them in their trials, and provide for them when they are in need. Educate them when they are abandoned, protect them from those that would take advantage of their vulnerabilities and heal the physical and emotional hurt that so many have had to face in their young lives. And Father, I ask that in Your grace, You would draw near to each one and bring them into a saving relationship with the Lord Jesus. Meet each one at their point of need and cover them with Your grace. In Jesus' name I pray, Amen.
Dear Lord Jesus, I feel so alone. I have lost my friend and partner of a life-time and it is quite daunting to know that I will never see them again � on earth.I want to thank You for always being there for me. Thank You, that You are with me in all the sadness that I am going through. May I rest in Your arms, knowing that no matter what happens, You are always there to be my comfort and guide.I pray that when those dark times come when sadness wells up wthin my heart, that You will be there to comfort and help. Hear, O Blessed Virgin, the prayers which we address you, Our Lady of Rest, as we are mindful of that maternal love in which you receive your children. It is by your powerful intercession, O Mary, that our hearts and minds find rest. We know well our own weakness; but we trust in the everlasting promises, and we hope for eternal happiness as we cling to the crucified Jesus, who has made His cross to be ours as well. O Mary, under your patronage we find peace in the midst of earthly tribulation. You are the quiet certainty of the strong soul, ever on guard against the enemy. You are the sanctuary of the pure who remain unstained by earth's corruption. And just as, with you, we find peace during the present life, so shall we find with you, when the days of our pilgrimage are over, everlasting peace in the world to come. Amen.
Father, Your Word reminds us, "how beautiful are the feet of those that preach the gospel of peace." I pray that in Christ I may wear the sandals of serenity and walk the pathway of peace.Help me to be spiritually minded and to walk in a manner that is worthy of the calling to which I have been called. May I step out in lowliness of heart and meekness of spirit, and help me to clothe myself in patience and kindness, and consider others needs above my own.I pray that in Your strength, my life may show forth the fruit of righteousness and grace and help me in all things to keep the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace, to Your praise and glory. Dear God, I am plagued with things that are going wrong. I am worried about my job and my family, my finances and my relationships. Lord, everything seems to be crashing in around me at the same time and I am simply coming to You as I have no where else to turn.I know that You are the God of Peace and Love, and I come to You because fear of the future is causing me to worry and fear. I know that it is not Your will that Your children are distressed about the things of this life. I know that You have told us not to fear and yet it is hard when life is becoming so difficult.Help me, Lord, not to be so worried. Help me to fix my mind on You rather than the concerns of life. Help me to trust You in all these difficulties, knowing You will carry me on Your shoulders. Thank You, Lord, Amen.
Father of Heaven and earth, hear my prayer and show me the way to peace. Guide each effort of my life so that my faults and my sins may not keep me from the peace You promised. May the new life of grace You give me through the Eucharist and prayer make my love for You grow and keep me in the joy of Your Kingdom.
Help me Father, to take You at Your Word and not to worry about the things of this life. Lord, I confess that I do have a tendency to get worried about the little things in life and yet I know that this is demonstrating a lack of trust in the truth of Your Word, for You have promised to supply all our needs according to Your riches in mercy.Help me Lord, to put my trust in You day by day. I know that You have told us, not to let our hearts be troubled and to trust in You in all circumstances of life. Help me Lord, when fear starts to well up in my heart, to turn it over to You straight away, to fix my eyes on the Lord Jesus and to rest in Your promises of peace.Thank You for all that You have provided for me throughout my life, my life and my home, my family and friends, my health and strength, the many benefits that You shower on me day by day. Most of all, thank You for dying for me on the cross so that I may live forever with You in heaven. Dear Heavenly Father, my heart is sad, and at times I feel quite broken due to our fractured relationship. Lord, it seems that the pressures of life and living have taken a heavy toll on my girlfriend and me, causing this shattering breakdown in our relationship, and an almost immovable rift seems to have been erected between us. Lord, I pray that in Your love and grace, You would restore to us a closeness with each other, in the bond of unity that You so delight in. Draw us back together I pray, and heal all our hurts we both are going through. Lord, bring us back together again, I pray, but if it is not to be, may we both move on in our lives and may You become our strong rock and high tower. Support us through this very difficult period of our lives I pray. Thank You, that You care deeply for us both, and into Your hands I give my fractured relationship, praying Your will be done. Most holy and immaculate Virgin, Mother of Jesus and our loving Mother, being his Mother, you shared in His universal kingship. The prophets and angels proclaimed Him King of peace. With loving fervour in our hearts we salute and honor you as Queen of peace. We pray that your intercession may protect us and all people from hated and discord, and direct our hearts into the ways of peace and justice which your Son taught and exemplified. Dear Lord Jesus, thank You that You are the Prince of Peace. Thank You that You not only calmed the raging storms on the sea, two thousand years ago, but that You are still able to calm the stresses and distresses within my heart, and I praise and thank You that You have taken up residency within my life, in the person of the Holy Spirit.Thank You, that my life has been exchanged for Your life, and that my sinful unrighteousness has been replaced with Your perfect righteousness.
