The Conversion of St. Paul — From Terrorist to Apostle

He was capturing Christians and having them killed. Then he got knocked off his horse. The most famous turnaround in history.

Saul of Tarsus wasn't just a skeptic; he was a violent persecutor. He was on the road to Damascus to arrest Christians.

The Flash

A light blinded him. He fell to the ground. Voice: "Saul, Saul, why are you persecuting Me?" Saul: "Who are you, Lord?" Voice: "I am Jesus, whom you are persecuting."

The Theology

Jesus didn't say "Why are you persecuting my followers?" He said "ME." This is the theology of the Body of Christ. To hurt a Christian is to hurt Christ Himself.

The Change

Saul (Jewish name) became Paul (Roman name) to signify his mission to the Gentiles. He went from trying to destroy the Church to writing half the New Testament. No one is too far gone.
