O Lord Jesus Christ, Prince of Peace, it is the dark of night and my mind is racing with racing thoughts, sudden tremors of panic, and irrational dread. The world around me sleeps, but my spirit feels agitated and trapped in a tempest.
Thou who didst rebuke the raging winds and howling waves on the Sea of Galilee with the words: "Peace, be still!" β speak that same sovereign peace into my nervous system, my chest, and my mind right now.
I command every spirit of fear, nocturnal terror, and runaway dread to leave my presence in the mighty Name of Jesus Christ. I cast every burden, every tomorrow, every financial worry, and every unspoken dread at the foot of Thy Holy Cross. I cannot carry tomorrow tonight; Thou art already standing in my tomorrow.
Cover this room with Thy Precious Blood. Send Thy holy angels, Michael, Gabriel, and Raphael, to guard the four corners of this room. Blessed St. Dymphna, patroness of those with troubled minds, intercede for my calm and restore my equilibrium.
Father, into Thy hands I commend my body, my thoughts, and my sleep. Grant me serene, deep, restorative rest. In Jesus' Holy Name. Amen.
