100 prayers
Heavenly father, I am your humble servant, I come before you today in need of hope. There are times when I feel helpless, There are times when I feel weak. I pray for hope. I need hope for a better future. I need hope for a better life. I need hope for love and kindness. Some say that the sky is at it's darkest just before the light. I pray that this is true, for all seems dark. I need your light, Lord, in every way. I pray to be filled with your light from head to toe. To bask in your glory. To know that all is right in the world, as you have planned, and as you want it to be. Help me to walk in your light, and live my life in faith and glory. In your name I pray, Amen.
God, Thank you for helping us to make it through this difficult year. Thank you that youve carried us through the uncertainty of deep waters, through the flames of trials, and through the pain of hard losses. We are constantly aware of how much we need you, your grace, your strength, your power working through even the toughest days. Help us to keep our focus first on you this season. Please forgive us for giving too much time and attention to other things, for looking to other people before coming to you first. Help us to reflect again, on what Christmas is really all about. We look forward to all that You still have in store. In Jesus' name, Amen. - Crosswalk.com
O God, the Creator and Redeemer of all the faithful, grant to the souls of Thy servants departed the remission of their sins, that, through pious supplications, they may obtain the pardon which they have always desired. Who livest and reignest with God the Father, in the unity of the Holy Ghost, world without end. Amen.
O my Redeemer, will that dreadful time ever come, when but few Christians shall be left who are inspired by the spirit of faith, that time when Thine anger shall be provoked and Thy protection shall be take away from us? Have our vices and our evil lives irrevocably moved Thy justice to take vengeance, perhaps this very day, upon Thy children? O Thou, the beginning and end of our faith, we conjure Thee, in the bitterness of our contrite and humbled hearts, not to suffer the fair light of faith to be extinguished in us. Remember Thy mercies of old, turn Thine eyes in mercy upon the vineyard planted by Thine own right hand, and watered by the sweat of the Apostles, by the precious blood of countless Martyrs and by the tears of so many sincere penitents, and made fruitful by the prayers of so many Confessors and innocent Virgins. O divine Mediator, look upon those zealous souls who raise their hearts to Thee and pray ceaselessly for the maintenance of that most precious gift of Thine, the true faith. We beseech Thee, O God of justice, to hold back the decree of our rejection, and to turn away Thine eyes from our vices and regard instead the adorable Blood shed upon the Cross, which purchased our salvation and daily intercedes for us upon our altars. Ah, keep us safe in the true Catholic and Roman faith. Let sickness afflict us, vexations waste us, misfortunes overwhelm us! But preserve in us Thy holy faith; for if we are rich with this precious gift, we shall gladly endure every sorrow, and nothing shall ever be able to change our happiness. On the other hand, without this great treasure of faith, our unhappiness would be unspeakable and without limit! O good Jesus, author of our faith, preserve it untainted within us; keep us safe in the bark of Peter, faithful and obedient to his successor and Thy Vicar here on earth, that so the unity of Holy Church may be maintained, holiness fostered, the Holy See protected in freedom, and the Church universal extended to the benefit of souls. O Jesus, author of our faith, humble and convert the enemies of Thy Church; grant true peace and concord to all Christian kings and princes and to all believers; strengthen and preserve us in Thy holy service, so that we may live in Thee and die in Thee. O Jesus, author of our faith, let me live for Thee and die for Thee. Amen.
Thank You, Father, that You have promised that the testing of our faith produces perseverance and steadfastness, which in time will bring forth the beautiful Christlike character that You so desire in all Your children, but which all too often I personally seek to avoid, or regard as a time of bitter struggle. Help me Lord, to embrace any trials that You see fit to enter my life. Help me to look at the difficulties that engulf me with Your eyes, and give me an eternal perspective on all the problems I may be called upon to face, so that I may count it all joy when I am confronted with various trials, knowing that the testing of my faith produces the godly fruit of patience. Help me Lord, to use those times of testing as an opportunity to grow in grace, and as a springboard to develop a deeper and more secure relationship with You.Lord, it is not alway easy to align our minds with the mind of Christ. It is often very hard to see trials in a positive light, and to embrace the various testings we have to go through as a thing to be highly prized, and yet Your Word tells us that life's difficulties sharpen our faith, while developing our trust in the Lord, which is more precious to You than much fine gold. Give me a heart that understands and chooses to look at trials and tests from Your perspective, so that the testing of my faith may bring forth the righteous fruit or patience and grace. I ask this in the name of Jesus,Amen.
My trust is in sweet Jesus: He is my passport to heaven! I place my life in His gentle hands; He will guide me along the rainbow. My blind trust is His to guide, May my soul reflect His light. I look around and see Jesus' help; I know He is worthy of my trust. Sweet Jesus, remain by my side, Never letting my trust be shaken! May I learn to share my trust with others, So Jesus will be known to all!
There are ChristiansWho have hysterical reactionsAs if the world had slipped out of God's hands. They are violentAs if they were risking everything. But we believe in history. The world is not a roll of the diceOn its way toward chaos.A new world has begun to happenSince Christ has risen? Jesus Christ,We rejoice in your definitive triumphWith our bodies still in the breach,Our souls in tension; We cry our first "Hurrah!"Till eternity unfolds itself. Your sorrow now has passed.Your enemies have failed. You are the definitive smile for humankind. What matter the wait now for us?We accept the struggle and the death,Because you, our love, will not die! We march behind you on the road to the future. You are with us. You are our immortality? Take away the sadness from our faces; We are not in a game of chance? You have the last word! Beyond the crushing of our bones,Now has begun the eternal "Alleluia!"From the thousands of openingsIn our wounded bodies and souls,There now arises a triumphal song! So teach us to give voiceTo your new life throughout the world,Because you dry the tears of the oppressed forever? And death will disappear.- Luis Espinal, S.J.
1. "Woman, behold your Son!" (Jn 19:26). As we near the end of this Jubilee Year, when you, O Mother, have offered us Jesus anew, the blessed fruit of your womb most pure, the Word made flesh, the world's Redeemer, we hear more clearly the sweet echo of his words entrusting us to you, making you our Mother: "Woman, behold your Son!" When he entrusted to you the Apostle John, and with him the children of the Church and all people, Christ did not diminish but affirmed anew the role which is his alone as the Saviour of the world. You are the splendour which in no way dims the light of Christ, for you exist in him and through him. Everything in you is fiat: you are the Immaculate One, through you there shines the fullness of grace. Here, then, are your children, gathered before you at the dawn of the new millennium. The Church today, through the voice of the Successor of Peter, in union with so many Pastors assembled here from every corner of the world, seeks refuge in your motherly protection and trustingly begs your intercession as she faces the challenges which lie hidden in the future. 2. In this year of grace, countless people have known the overflowing joy of the mercy which the Father has given us in Christ. In the particular Churches throughout the world, and still more in this centre of Christianity, the widest array of people have accepted this gift. Here the enthusiasm of the young rang out, here the sick have lifted up their prayer. Here have gathered priests and religious, artists and journalists, workers and people of learning, children and adults, and all have acknowledged in your beloved Son the Word of God made flesh in your womb. O Mother, intercede for us, that the fruits of this Year will not be lost and that the seeds of grace will grow to the full measure of the holiness to which we are all called. 3. Today we wish to entrust to you the future that awaits us, and we ask you to be with us on our way. We are the men and women of an extraordinary time, exhilarating yet full of contradictions. Humanity now has instruments of unprecedented power: we can turn this world into a garden, or reduce it to a pile of rubble. We have devised the astounding capacity to intervene in the very well-springs of life: man can use this power for good, within the bounds of the moral law, or he can succumb to the short-sighted pride of a science which accepts no limits, but tramples on the respect due to every human being. Today as never before in the past, humanity stands at a crossroads. And once again, O Virgin Most Holy, salvation lies fully and uniquely in Jesus, your Son. 4. Therefore, O Mother, like the Apostle John, we wish to take you into our home (cf. Jn 19:27), that we may learn from you to become like your Son. "Woman, behold your son!" Here we stand before you to entrust to your maternal care ourselves, the Church, the entire world. Plead for us with your beloved Son that he may give us in abundance the Holy Spirit, the Spirit of truth which is the fountain of life. Receive the Spirit for us and with us, as happened in the first community gathered round you in Jerusalem on the day of Pentecost (cf. Acts 1:14). May the Spirit open our hearts to justice and love, and guide people and nations to mutual understanding and a firm desire for peace. We entrust to you all people, beginning with the weakest: the babies yet unborn, and those born into poverty and suffering, the young in search of meaning, the unemployed, and those suffering hunger and disease. We entrust to you all troubled families, the elderly with no one to help them, and all who are alone and without hope. 5. O Mother, you know the sufferings and hopes of the Church and the world: come to the aid of your children in the daily trials which life brings to each one, and grant that, thanks to the efforts of all, the darkness will not prevail over the light. To you, Dawn of Salvation, we commit our journey through the new Millennium, so that with you as guide all people may know Christ, the light of the world and its only Saviour, who reigns with the Father and the Holy Spirit for ever and ever. Amen.
O my God, I firmly believe that you are one God in three divine persons, Father, Son and Holy Spirit. I believe that your divine Son became man and died for our sins, and that he will come to judge the living and the dead. I believe these and all the truths which the holy catholic Church teaches, because in revealing them you can neither deceive nor be deceived.
My divine Lord, I firmly believe that I am going to receive in Holy Communion you Body, Blood, Soul, and Divinity. I believe this because you have said it, and I am ready to maintain this truth at the peril of my life.
I firmly believe that there is one God, and that in this one God there are three Persons, the Father, the Son, and the Holy Ghost: that the Son took to Himself the nature of man, from the Virgin Mary's womb, by the power of the Holy Ghost; and that in this our human nature He was crucified and died for us; that afterwards He rose again, and ascended into heaven; from thence He shall come to repay the just with everlasting glory, and the wicked with everlasting punishment. Moreover, I believe whatsoever else the Catholic Church proposes to be believed; and this because God, Who is the sovereign Truth, Who can neither deceive nor be deceived, has revealed all these things to this His Church. Amen.
O my God! I firmly believe that Thou art one only God, the Creator and Sovereign Lord of heaven and earth, infinitely great and infinitely good. I firmly believe that in Thee, one only God, there are three divine Persons, really distinct and equal in all things, the Father, and the Son, and the Holy Ghost. I firmly believe that God the Son, the second Person of the most Holy Trinity, became man: that He was conceived by the Holy Ghost, born of the Virgin Mary; that He suffered and died on a cross, to redeem and save us; that He rose the third day from the dead; that He ascended into heaven; that He will come at the end of the world to judge mankind; that He will reward the good with eternal happiness, and condemn the wicked to the everlasting pains of hell. I believe these and all other articles with the holy Roman Catholic Church proposes to our belief, because Thou, my God, the infallible Truth, as revealed them; and Thou hast commanded us to hear the Church, which is the pillar and the ground of truth. In this faith I am firmly resolved by Thy holy grace to live and die. Amen.

O my God, who are infallible Truth and can neither deceive nor be deceived, I firmly believe all that you have revealed and propose to my belief through your holy Church, because you have revealed it. I believe that you are one in nature and three in Persons: the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. I believe that you are the Creator of all things and that you reward the just for all eternity in heaven and punish the wicked for all eternity in hell. I believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God made man, that he suffered and died for my sins and rose from the dead in glory, and that it is only in him through the Holy Spirit that eternal life is given to men. I believe in fine all that your holy Church believes. I thank you for having called me to the true faith, and I affirm that with the help of your grace I will live and die in the holy faith.
Lord Jesus, eternal and infallible Truth, since Thou hast said that Thou art really present in the holy Eucharist, I believe it firmly. Yes, this Host which I see, and which I am to receive, is not bread, but the living Body of Jesus Christ, God and Man: it is the God Whom the Angels adore in heaven; I believe it. I do not understand this Mystery, but I wish to believe it without seeking to penetrate it, that I may have the happiness of seeing and contemplating it one day in heaven. Strengthen it so lively, that I may honour Thee, love Thee, and receive Thee, as if I already beheld Thee.

My good Jesus, I believe with a firm and lively faith that in this adorable sacrament are Thy body and blood, soul and divinity. I believe that in this consecrated Host I shall receive that same body which was born of the most pure Virgin Mary in Bethlehem, which suffered so many pains and torments for love of me on the Way of the Cross and on Calvary, and which rose gloriously the third day from the dead. I believe that I shall receive God Himself. I adore Thee, O my God, as my Creator, my Preserver, my Redeemer, and my Judge, truly present in the Holy Eucharist. Divine Host, I adore Thee with the angels who fill the sanctuary and hover over the tabernacle as they hovered over the cave of Bethlehem in the Holy Night; I adore Thee, my God, with the Blessed Virgin, and in union with all the saints. Lord and Master of the universe, Who hast fixed Thy dwelling amongst men, I adore Thee with profound gratitude. O my Jesus, bless this temple wherein Thou residest, but still more the heart that I offer Thee as a living abode and place of rest. Deign ever to inhabit it by Thy grace and Thy love, and may my sins never banish Thee from it! Lord, I have a firm faith, but do Thou strengthen my faith, and animate it so that it may produce in my soul deeper sentiments of adoration and love. Good Lord, increase my faith that I may love Thee more, and be more generous in my sacrifices for love of Thee and for the love of my neighbours. Amen.
MY LORD Jesus Christ, I believe that Thou art truly present in the Blessed Sacrament. I believe that in Holy Communion I shall receive Thy sacred body and Thy precious blood. My faith in Thy real presence in the Holy Eucharist is firmly founded on Thy word, O eternal Truth. My Saviour and my God, with the angels who surround Thy altar-throne, I bow down in humble adoration before Thy Majesty. Amen.
Of a truth I firmly believe, O Good Jesus, and with lively faith confess, that Thou Thyself, equal to God the Father in glory and in power, true God and Man, art verily and indeed present in this Sacrament. For Thou, the very high Truth itself, hast said, This is My Body, This is My Blood. I believe whatever the Son of God hath said. Nothing can be truer than this word of Him who is the Truth. I do believe, Lord; help my belief, increase my faith. Amen.
O my God, relying on Your almighty power and infinite mercy and promises, I hope to obtain pardon of my sins, the help of Your grace and life everlasting, through the merits of Jesus Christ, my Lord and Redeemer. Amen. Printable Catholic Prayer PDFs
O my God, relying upon Thine almighty power and Thine infinite mercy and goodness, and because Thou art faithful to Thy promises, I trust in Thee that Thou wilt grant me forgiveness of my sins, through the merits of Jesus Christ Thy Son; and that Thou wilt give me the assistance of Thy grace, with which I may labour to continue to the end in the diligent exercise of all good works, and may deserve to obtain the glory which Thou hast promised in heaven. Amen.
O my God! Who hast graciously promised every blessing, even heaven itself, through Jesus Christ, to those who keep Thy commandments: relying on Thine infinite power, goodness, and mercy, and on Thy sacred promises, to which Thou art always faithful, I confidently hope to obtain pardon of all my sins; grace to serve Thee faithfully in this life, by doing the good works Thou hast commanded, and which, with Thine assistance, I purpose to perform; and eternal happiness in the next; through my Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. Amen.
O my God, trusting in your promises and because you are faithful, powerful and merciful, I hope, through the merits of Jesus Christ, for the pardon of my sins, final perseverance and the blessed glory of heaven
O my God! Who hast graciously promised every blessing, even Heaven itself, through Jesus Christ, to those who keep Thy commandments; relying on Thine infinite power, goodness and mercy, and confiding in Thy sacred promises, to which Thou art always faithful, I confidently hope to obtain pardon of all my sins; grace to serve Thee faithfully in this life, by doing the good works Thou hast commanded, and which, with Thine assistance, I now purpose to perform, and eternal happiness in the next, through my Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. Amen.
For Your mercies' sake, O Lord my God, tell me what You are to me. Say to my soul: "I am your salvation." So speak that I may hear, O Lord; my heart is listening; open it that it may hear You, and say to my soul: "I am your salvation." After hearing this word, may I come in haste to take hold of you. Hide not Your face from me. Let me see Your face even if I die, lest I die with longing to see it. The house of my soul is too small to receive You; let it be enlarged by You. It is all in ruins; do You repair it. There are thing in it, I confess and I know, that must offend Your sight. But who shall cleanse it? Or to what others besides You shall I cry out? From my secret sins cleanse me, O Lord, and from those of others spare your servant. Amen.
My soul, confide in Jesus. He can do thee every good. He is God and He loves thee. In the Blessed Eucharist He is sweet and mild and generous. Urged by love, He comes to manifest His love to thee. Yes, my dear Jesus, Thou art my hope and my salvation. Sacred Heart of Jesus, I place my trust in Thee. I trust, O Lord, that Thou wilt enkindle in my heart the flame of Thy pure love, and a real desire to please Thee; so that, from this day forward, I may never will anything but what Thou willest. Amen.

O Christ Jesus, I am sinful dust and ashes, but Thou callest to Thee all who labour and are burdened, that Thou mayest refresh them. Art not Thou my refuge? To whom else shall I go? Thou hast the words of eternal life, Thou alone canst comfort me in every trouble. Lord, I am weak and sick, but Thou art my salvation. Those who are well need not a physician, but those who are sick. Therefore I come to Thee, my physical and my refuge, hoping that this Communion may be to me the increase of Faith, Hope, and Charity; a firm defence against the snares of my enemies; a help to the removal of the fault and defect of (Mention your faults here...), and to the bringing forth of works well pleasing unto Thee, especially..., and a pledge of future glory. This is the hope and desire which I cherish in my heart, for Thou art compassionate and of tender mercy, and in all Thy promises most faithful. Amen.
O Jesus! Relying on Thy promises, goodness, and power, I hope to obtain from Thee the graces necessary for the sanctification and salvation of my soul. Amen.
I believe in God the Father Almighty, Creator of Heaven and earth; I believe in Jesus Christ, His only Son, our Lord, He was conceived by the Holy Spirit and born of the Virgin Mary. He suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, died, and was buried. He descended to the dead. On the third day He rose again. He ascended into Heaven and is seated at the right hand of the Father. He will come again to judge the living and the dead. I believe in the Real Presence of Jesus in the Sacrament of the Holy Eucharist. I believe in the Real Presence of Jesus in the Body of Christ, the Consecrated Bread. I believe in the Real Presence of Jesus in the Blood of Christ, the Consecrated Wine. I believe that Jesus instituted the One, Holy, Catholic and Apostolic Church as His dwelling Home on earth. I believe in the Real Presence of Jesus in the Sacred Tabernacles of the Catholic Church. I believe that Jesus is truly present physically among us, over and above being spiritually present within us. May this truth be known to all for the glory of God. Amen.
Dear Father God, we live in a world where injustice is rife, freedoms are rapidly being removed and persecution of believers is on the increase. I come to You Father, to lay before You all the men and women who have had their freedoms removed, each one is precious in Your sight, for each one is a blood-bought child of Yours.Be with all who are suffering injustice and loss of their freedoms, whether through government restrictions or groups that are intent on harming them, and give wisdom to the men and ministries that are seeking to support those that have been affected in this way.Lord, I know that only when Jesus returns will true justice be restored and true freedom be established. Keep each one of Your children under the protection of Your wing, and may all who trust in Christ find their rest in Him, knowing that He is able and willing to support in time of need and to help in time of trouble. In Jesus' name I pray,Amen.
Our Lord and Heavenly God, Who suffered and bled and died under shocking conditions and rose again into newness of life, we lay before You all the believers in Christ who for Your sake, are going through acts of hate and intolerance, that are ravaging the lives of so many Christians today, and in so many different parts of the world. Comfort with Your grace, all those who are experiencing the hatred and intolerance of their fellow men, and give them the grace and strength to face whatever evils are being perpetrated against them. Move I pray, those that are oppressing our brothers and sisters with compassion and mercy. Let all who are suffering, know Your special closeness in all the struggles they are going through. Provide for their bodily needs, and sustain their spirit with Your heavenly grace. Fill their hearts with hope, knowing that You are with them in all things and will never leave them nor forsake them. In Jesus' name we pray, Amen.
Oh God, I come to You saddened in soul and with a heart that is breaking. You brought a special person into my life, for which I thank You Lord, and we were so happy together for a time. But for many reasons, including my jealous nature, things have gone sour between us and we have moved apart. Lord, I confess to You that I acted in a way that was not appropriate and did not permit trust between us to develop and to grow as it should. Look down on us in pity I pray, and I ask that You would open up an opportunity for us to be properly reconciled so that we may build up our relationship together. Lord, I know that so often when we make foolish mistakes, we have to take the responsibility for the outcome, which is not always the way that we would hope. But I do pray that our relationship is not finished, and that in Your grace You would restore again the joy of being together and the special love we had for each other. Change Me Lord, remove this jealous streak that has caused me so many problems in my life, for I know that this is not from You Lord. Make me more like the Lord Jesus, not only in my actions but in my attitudes and emotions. May Your will be done in our lives and even if we do not get back together Lord, I pray that we may be reconciled, so that we may separate graciously and not in the current animosity. I ask this in Jesus' name, Amen.
Loving God, there are times when the burdens I carry and the disappointments that come my way seem too much to bear. Lord, my daily tasks seem to mount up with every passing week, and however much I manage to get done I never seem to do all that I ought to do. I find myself stressing out and worrying about all the things that I have left undone.I know that this is not the way that the Christian life should be lived, and although I have heard people preach on living in a way that is pleasing to You, I never seem to manage to live that way myself. Lord, if I am honest I dont really understand how to live a life that is pleasing to You, even though I have tried so very hard. Help me to do what the Bible says, to cast all my burdens on You and to let You be my full sufficiency. When the disappointments in my life seem to be piling up all around me, help me to trust You with all my heart and not lean on my own understanding, or rely on myself. Help me to seek You first, knowing that all the other things will be added unto me. Help me to trust You instead of trusting in myself.Lord, You have promised to guide all Your children in all truth. Teach me Your truth of abiding in You and trusting in Your Word. I ask this in the name of Jesus, Amen.
Heavenly Father, sometimes the way ahead seems so clear, but at other times the way seems shrouded with uncertainly and the road ahead seems to be hidden in the questioning shadows. I want to be in Your perfect will Lord, and I pray that Your will be done in every area of my life. I long to have Your assurance that this is the way to walk, but at times Your will seems to be hidden by a cloud of uncertainly and swamped by a foggy mist of unknowing. As I step out into the future Lord, I place my trust in You. My desire is to remain in the centre of Your perfect will for my life. Lead me Lord on the right path that is best for me I pray. You have promised to be with me wherever I go, for You know the steps that I take. My trust is in You and I want to do only that which glorifies You. In Jesus' name I pray, Amen.
Loving Father, You sent the Lord Jesus Christ, Your only begotten and eternal Son into the world to save sinners. But there are many people in the world who have not heard this, people who need to hear the good news of the glorious gospel of grace, and of Jesus Christ, Who died for their sins and rose again the third day. Raise up young men and women with a heart for Jesus and a desire to share the gospel with those that are lost in their sins, so that many may be brought to saving faith in the Lord Jesus. Develop in these young people, the heart of an evangelist and the opportunity to share the good news of the gospel of grace to those that are lost and in need of a Saviour. In Jesus' name I pray, Amen.
Thank You Father, for the heritage and gift of children. I bring the precious daughter that You have placed in our family to You, and give her into Your safe-keeping from this day forward.Father, I thank You that she has come to a child-like understanding of Who Jesus is and has accepted Him as her Saviour, coming realise that He died to pay the price for her sins, and rose again, so that she could live, and be with Him forever. Thank You, Lord, for her simple, child-like trust in You and I pray that she may grow in grace and in a knowledge of the Lord Jesus. May she mature in the faith, and keep her I pray, from all the wiles of the evil one who would seek to undermine her trust in You. Develop in my little daughter the fruit of the Spirit, and may she learn to walk in spirit and truth as she grows and develops in her Christian faith. Help me to teach her the beautiful virtues of honesty and integrity, gentleness and humility. May she come to love Your Word and hunger and thirst for righteousness sake. Keep her I pray, unto her lifes end with an ever increasing trust in Jesus as Saviour and Lord. In Jesus' name I pray,Amen.
Dear God, Committed love is a sacred treasure I long to find the one who is mine. I trust you will grant my desires for love - to love of myself , and to find love with my true soul mate. I trust you will bring this to me gently and sweetly, in a way that is completely right for me and my true love. I give thanks for your presence, your guidance and your love. And so it is.
Lord, You are the God of peace and love in Whom I place my trust. Give me a peaceful heart that rests in You and a loving spirit that pours fourth Your love to others. Lord, You are the God of comfort and rest in Whom I put my hope. Give me a heart that abides in You so that Your comfort may stream through me to others who need comfort and strength. Lord, You are the God of hope and joy in Whom I stand secure. Give me a spirit of devotion that worships only You so that I may be a worthy witness that points to Jesus, for in Him is all peace and love and comfort and rest and hope and joy and love. I place my trust in You, Lord.Amen.
Eternal rest grant unto them, O Lord; and let perpetual light shine upon them. May they rest in peace. Amen.

Gracious God, I bring all those who think that they are a hopeless case and that there is no way out of the terrible addiction which has entrapped them. Lord, there are so many people who have become enslaved to various forms of addiction - yet we know that there is wonderful hope for everyone, no matter what level to which they have sunk, for Christ died for all. His death paid the price for every addict and all they have to do is to believe that Christ died on the cross to take the punishment that they deserve and rose to give them life. If they will only believe.. Look down with Your grace and compassion on all who are so entrapped in their addictions and I pray that You will bring many out from this terrible existence, which is so harmful and so degrading. Bless all Father and may Your Holy Spirit seek out and save many such souls who turn to Christ as Saviour. Amen.
Heavenly Father, You are our refuge and strength in the bad times as well as the good times. Although the difficulties of life cause many of us to tighten our grip on the hope we have in You, there are some dear believers that struggle with depression, and who fall into despair when times of trouble hit their lives. Lord, we grieve when this causes men and women to question their hope in You and even walk away from the trust they had in the Lord Jesus Christ. But You are a God of great grace and loving-kindness, and we bring before You all believers who are going through the testing of their faith in the form of despair or depression today. Look down in pity and mercy on all who are struggling in this way. Bring peace and comfort I pray, to all who are facing the pain that depression brings, and reach down in Your love to touch each life and to draw them back into Your loving arms of forgiveness and grace. We ask this in the lovely name of Jesus, Amen.
We believe in God, the Father, the Almighty, maker of heaven and earth, and all that is seen and unseen. We believe in one Lord, Jesus Christ, the only Son of God, eternally begotten of the Father, God from God, Light from Light, true God from true God, begotten, not made, consubstantial one in Being with the Father. Through him all things were made. For us men and for our salvation he came down from heaven: and by the Holy Spirit was incarnate he was born of the Virgin Mary, and became man. For our sake he was crucified under Pontius Pilate; he suffered, died, and was buried. On the third day he rose again in fulfilment of the Scriptures; he ascended into heaven and is seated at the right hand of the Father. He will come again in glory to judge the living and the dead, and His kingdom will have no end. We believe in the Holy Spirit, the Lord, the giver of life, who proceeds from the Father and the Son. With the Father and the Son he is worshipped and glorified. He has spoken through the Prophets. We believe in one holy catholic and apostolic Church. We acknowledge one baptism for the forgiveness of sins. We look for the resurrection of the dead, and the life of the world to come. Amen.
Heavenly Father, You are our only Supplier and Supply and it is upon You that we rely entirely. We are living in a difficult world, in a society that is facing increasingly precarious economic difficulties. The money for which we work is becoming sawdust in our pockets and the prices of the simple basics of life are escalating out of control, and Lord we have no one but You upon whom to rely and we are trusting You for our provision today.Lord, we believe Your Word is true and that You have promised to supply all our needs according to Your riches in glory. Thank You for the amazing example of the Israelites in the wilderness, who received sufficient manna for the day as a promise from You, and Lord we believe and know that Your promises are no less true today than they were in those distant days gone by.Help us to walk by faith and not to be swayed by the mountainous problems that surround us on every side. Help us to live by faith and not by sight, and trust You to provide sufficient provision for our daily need. Help us to read Your Word and reckon it to be true and not to doubt Your promises. Help us to trust You entirely in these increasingly precarious times and look to You with childlike trust, knowing that You are our Supplier and Supply. We ask this in Jesus' name,Amen.
Father, as we recall the steadfast faith and hope in God that so many of the great cloud of witnesses displayed in Hebrews chapter eleven and elsewhere, we pray that we too may follow their example and place our entire faith in Your precious Word. May we develop an ever deepening trust in You, knowing that Your Word is faithful and true. May we be nourished by the Word of God day by day and be refreshed with rivers of living water that stream into our hearts from above, so that whatsoever we do will be pleasing to the Lord and glorify His name.Thank You that in Christ, we have been forgiven of all our sins and delivered from the power of sin in our lives. May we pass on a trust in the Lord Jesus to our children and children's children, so that in the next generations a living trust in God may be their witness to the world and faith in His Word may be a testimony that will also pass on to all their children.Keep us standing firm in truth of God's Word that has been delivered to us by our Father in heaven, and keep us steadfast and true to all that we have learned of Your grace and mercy. May our lives demonstrate an ever deepening love for You, until that glorious day when we are taken to be with You in heaven. This we pray in Jesus name,Amen.
Thank You, Father, that my eternal future is built upon Christ Jesus, my Lord and I pray that I may hold unswervingly to the hope I have in Him, knowing that He Who died on the cross to pay the price for my sins, and drew me with His cords of everlasting love into His family, is faithful to complete the good work that He started in my life, for His Word stands fast for ever and ever.May I never forget on Whom my hope is founded, knowing that He became sin for me so that I might become the righteousness of God in Him. May I stand firm on the confession of my faith and develop a living hope that stands fast in the day of trouble, knowing that in Him I can face all that this life throws at me. My hope is indeed built on nothing less than the Lord Jesus Christ and His righteousness. Thank You for the living hope I have in Him. In His name I pray,Amen.
Dear Lord Jesus, I thank You for dying for me on the cruel cross and I praise You Lord, for Your glorious resurrection from the dead and all that it means to me, a sinner who has been saved by grace through faith in Christ.Help me I pray, to trust You no matter what I am called upon to do. Give me the will to step out in faithful obedience on those occasions when I am called to say or do something that is outside of my comfort zone and to follow in the path of those like Queen Esther, who was called for such a time as this.Help me to step out in faith and not to fear that which I am called upon to undertake, knowing that we have not been given the spirit of fear but of power and love and of a sound mind. Keep my heart open to Your promptings help to grow in my faith, and obedience to Your praise and glory. In Jesus' name I pray,Amen.
Dear God, the world seems so dark and foreboding.Where are the signs of hope? What are you calling us to do?Wars, uprisings, displacements, hunger, poverty, and disease continue to claim victims by the millions around the world each year. Our ears do not want to hear their stories and our eyes do not want to see their plight because the suffering and destruction is so massive and cruel. In our hearts and minds there is a desire to help somehow, but the crisis seem so overwhelming that we shake our heads in dismay and we wonder what the point is for us even to attempt to be witnesses for healing and hope in this hellish morass. We beg with the song writer to open our eyes that we may see glimpses of truth you have for us.Help us to follow the path of Jesus, the Suffering Servant. Give us the courage to be willing to walk the path of depression and pain with the victims of injustice here at home as well as abroad.Help us to seek ways to light candles of hope, however small, through our words, our deeds, and our prayers, to encourage our sisters and brothers to hold onto the faith in spite of the pain and suffering they are facing. And help those of us who are among the fortunate ones, who have enough bread to eat, good health, and who live in relative peace, to open our heart to learn from our sisters and brothers who are living lives of grace and forgiveness in the horrid circumstances which surround them. O God, help us to light one candle rather than to curse the darkness. We pray this in the name of Jesus, who knows what being a light in this dark world is all about. - Larry Kehler, Mennonite Central Committee, Canada, 2009
Loving Lord, thank You that Jesus came to die for the sins of humanity, and those that trust in Him will not be condemned but have eternal life. Thank You, Lord, that all believers are part of Your body, that You bought us all with a price, and that our citizenship is in heaven with You for evermore. Lord, I bring every member of Your Body to You in prayer and Lord, I pray that as the day gets increasingly more evil, that You will guard and guide all those that have been purchased with the precious blood of our Lord Jesus Christ. Sanctify Your body Lord, sanctify Your Church I pray with the washing of the cleansing water that comes from Your Word. Purify all those that are Your children. Help each one to draw ever closer in these difficult days so that they may be presented to You a holy Church, a sanctified Body, without any stain or wrinkle or any other sort of blemish. May Your church be set apart for You, perfect and blameless in all things. Draw every one of Your children closer to You in thought and word and deed, to Your praise and Your honour. In Jesus' name I pray, Amen.
Father God, in a world that is ever changing and in a society that has all but rejected the truth of Your Word, I thank You that You are our never-changing Saviour, Who knows the end from the beginning and has the universe in the palm of His hand. Develop in me an unwavering trust in the hope that is set before me, knowing that in Christ I have already received Your gift of eternal life, by grace through faith in Christ Jesus my Lord.May I learn more and more of Your divine character and perfect attributes, for the more I know You the more I trust You, and the more I trust You the more I come to love You. Develop in me an unwavering hope in Your promises, knowing that despite the evil and wickedness that seems to be suffocating all that is good and pure, Your plans and purposes for mankind will one day be brought to fruition. On that day, Christ will be all in all, and the whole world will be brought into submission under His feet as He rules and reigns on earth as King of kings and Lord of lords. May I hope in Him unswervingly and live my life to His praise and glory. In Jesus' name I pray,Amen.
Heavenly Father, help us to develop a trust and faith in You that reflects the simplicity of childlike faith that so rejoices Your heart, and which is so evident in the lives of little children, and yet which seems to evaporate into a vapour as soon as we reach the age of maturity. May we develop a wonder and an amazement at the glorious redemption story, and a deep humility as we approach Your thrice-holy, throne of grace to ask for help in time of need.Forgive us for losing so much of the wonder of the beautiful incarnation, and for becoming complacent about the death and resurrection of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. Renew in us a deep reverence for Your holy name, as befits our great and glorious Creator God, Who loved us so much that He sent His only begotten Son to die for our sins, so that whosever believes on Him would not perish but have everlasting life.Help us in the days that lie ahead to examine our hearts, and to see if we too have become lukewarm towards the things of God. Renew in us a childlike spirit of awe and wonder, so that once again we may marvel at the wonder of Who You truly are. And draw us ever closer into deeper intimacy with Yourself. This we ask in the precious name of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ,Amen.
Lord, I believe: I wish to believe in Thee. Lord, let my faith be full and unreserved, and let it penetrate my thought, my way of judging Divine things and human things. Lord, let my faith be joyful and give peace and gladness to my spirit, and dispose it for prayer with God and conversation with men, so that the inner bliss of its fortunate possession may shine forth in sacred and secular conversation. Lord, let my faith be humble and not presume to be based on the experience of my thought and of my feeling; but let it surrender to the testimony of the Holy Spirit, and not have any better guarantee than in docility to Tradition and to the authority of the magisterium of the Holy Church. Amen.
Amen.
O Lord Omnipotent, Who permittest evil that Thou mayest draw good therefrom, give ear to our humble petitions, whereby we beg of Thee the grace of being faithful unto death, evermore conforming ourselves to Thy most holy will. Amen.
Loving Lord, we desire in this ministry to lift up the lovely name of the Lord Jesus, and to glorify our Father in heaven. Bless our ministry we pray, and may Your Holy Spirit lead and guide all we say and do. May we be changed more and more into the image of Jesus as we seek to follow His command, to love as He has loved us. Protect us Lord, from the wiles of the enemy who would seek to destroy the good work that You are doing. Build us up in the unity of the Spirit and may we be transformed more and more into the likeness of Christ by the renewing of our mind, day by day. Keep us Lord, from following our own fleshly pursuits, but rather may we be guided by You in all the areas of this ministry work. Provide for all our needs, knowing that You are One Who has promised to supply all our needs according to Your riches in glory. Guard us, guide us, keep up and use us as You see fit. In Jesus' name we pray, Amen.
Thank You, Father, that I am Your child. Thank You, that I am positioned in Christ by grace through faith in Him. And thank You, Father, for placing all those who have trusted Christ as Savior into union with our Lord Jesus Christ, and made us brothers and sisters in Him. Thank You, that we are members of His Body and are being built up together as Your holy dwelling place.Father, as the wickedness in this world seems to be increasing and the love of many has grown so cold, I pray that You would unite the members of Your body together, in loving fellowship and earnest prayer for one another. May we be united together in the bond of love and peace, holding each other up in prayer, as we walk in the light of the glorious gospel of grace and watch for Your soon return. I ask this in the name of Jesus,Amen.
LordI know that only You can give hope in despair, joy in pain and peace in a shattered heart, and I am in such desperate need and deepdespair..I just dont know which way to turn - and in mydesperationI am askingYouto help me. PleaseLordHELP Me and show me what to do. My life is in such a mess and everything that can go wrong has gone wrong - and I dont know what to do or which way to turn. Please help me. I know that I cannot go on alone and I needYouto carry me through.. and I know the Bible says that You have promised never to leave me or forsake me and that Your arms are underneath me and all around me and that You are holding me tightly with Your righteous right hand. Thank You for that.. Show me what to do. Help me to get through this difficult time and turn my life around I pray..I am sorry for all my sins and know that I have no right to come to You forhelp..but I also believe that You have said that all who trust in Jesus as Saviour can come toYouto ask for help in time of need andLordI trust in You - I repent of all my sins and place my life and my future in Your hand and ask You to have compassion on me and lift me out of this pit of despair - and restore hope and joy and peace in my heart I pray this I ask in Jesus name, Amen
Heavenly Father, my hope is in You alone as I face the many storms of life that constantly seem to be battering at my door, with increasing intensity. Lord, they seem like billowing waves beating against everything that has spelled security in my life up til now, and causing me to realise that without You I would be overcome in a moment of time. Help me Lord, to look to You and maintain that hope that I have in You, knowing that without You I am nothing, but with You at the helm of my life I have all I need to stand firm in the faith.Lord, thank You that by Your grace I have been made a new creation in Christ and thank You for the promise of hope that is set before me in Him. Thank You, that my hope was founded on You the moment I first believed, but forgive me Lord, for over the years I know I have drifted far away from You as I tried, in my own strength, to be the captain my own life and negotiate through its little surges and swells by my own skill and cunning. Lord, I ask Your forgiveness for being so careless with my relationship with You, for You alone deserve my praise and thanksgiving for You alone are the source of my life and the sphere of my hope. You are the faithful Shepherd of the sheep and the Rock upon Whom my hope is founded. Lord, I pray that as the intensity of lifes storms increase all around me, that I may cling ever closer to You, and rest all my hope upon You, for You alone are worthy. In Jesus' name I pray,Amen.
God of mercy, you know the secrets of all human hearts, for you know who is just and you forgive the repentant sinner. Hear my prayer in the midst of destruction; give me patience and hope, so that under your protection and with you as my guide, I may one day be reunited with my family and friends in peace, tranquility, and love. Grant this through Christ our Lord.
Heavenly Father, thank You that in Your Word, You have given us all we need to mature in the faith, to grow in grace and to live godly in Christ Jesus. We pray that all Your children may become like new-born babes who cry out in longing for the pure milk of the Word of God. Develop in each one an insatiable desire to know more of You and to know You more intimately, so that individually and corporately we may grow up and mature in every aspect of our Lord Jesus Christ, Who is our Saviour and Head.Strengthen each one we pray, knowing that in Christ we can do all things, but may we never forget that without Him at the helm of our lives we can achieve nothing in the spiritual realm. Thank You, Father, that You are able to make all grace abound in the lives of each of all Your children, if only we will abide in Christ and walk in spirit and truth. We pray that in the power of the Holy Spirit, You would give us all sufficiency in everything and use us as You choose, in Your service, to Your praise and glory. Give us discernment we pray, so that we may not be carried away by the error of unprincipled men, and prevent us from falling from our own steadfastness and faith, but enable us to grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. To Him be the glory, both now and into the day of eternity. In Jesus' name,Amen.
Thank You, Father, that our hope, which is rooted and grounded in Christ Jesus, is not for this world only, but has a most glorious and eternal perspective. For as Paul told the Corinthian believers, that if we were only to hope in this life, we would be pitied more that anyone else. But praise be to God, that our hope is in Christ, Who has been raised from the dead and in so doing, has become the first-fruits of those who die in the Lord.Thank You, Father, that our citizenship is in heaven and Christ Jesus is that blessed Hope, for whom we all eagerly await, knowing that when we see Him we shall be changed into His likeness. What a glorious hope we have in Him, a hope that is secured for us in heaven, for which we praise and glorify Your holy name.May we set our heart and minds on things above, knowing that Christ is seated at the right hand of God, that our life is hid with Christ in God, and we are complete in Him. Father, thank You for this spiritual hope that we have in Jesus, knowing that He is our eternal and abundant life and that when He appears we too will appear with him in glory. Praise Your holy name. In Jesus' name,Amen.
May the Strength of God guide us. May the Power of God preserve us. May the Wisdom of God instruct us. May the Hand of God protect us. May the Way of God direct us. May the Shield of God defend us. May the Angels of God guard us. - Against the snares of the evil one. May Christ be with us! May Christ be before us! May Christ be in us, Christ be over all! May Thy Grace, Lord, Always be ours, This day, O Lord, and forevermore.
Amen.

Heavenly Father, we praise and thank You for the many people throughout our world that have come to trust in the finished work of Jesus Christ at Calvary, and that together we make up the body of Christ and are united together in Him. May we be faithful to lift up our brothers and sisters in Christ, wherever they may be. We pray that each one may be filled to overflowing with the knowledge of Jesus Christ our Saviour. May each of Your children be granted all spiritual wisdom, grace, understanding and love for each other, so that through the power of Your Holy Spirit we may walk worthy of our calling in Christ. We pray that Your Body may grow together in unity and love, not compromising with worldly standards but walking in spirit and truth, and living a life that is pleasing to You in thought, word and deed. Strengthen each one we pray, with all power, according to Your riches in glory, so that together as one we may show forth the beautiful fruit of the Spirit and be endowed with steadfastness and patience, wisdom and love. Keep us ever looking to Jesus, and may the wonder and joy we have in Him continue to grow in His grace, until we stand before His very Presence, when He comes to take us to be with Himself forever. Thank You, that Your Word contains all we need to live godly in Christ Jesus and to walk in spirit and truth. In Jesus' name,Amen.
Loving Lord and Heavenly Father, I know that it is not Your will that anyone should perish, but that all should come to faith in Jesus Christ. But Lord, there are so many that are dead in their trespasses and sins, separated from You Lord, because they have not trusted in the Lord Jesus Christ as their one and only sacrifice for sin. Look down in pity on all those who have not come to a saving faith in the Lord Jesus. Lord, I pray that Your Holy Spirit would convict many men and women of their sin, and their need to trust the Lord Jesus as their Saviour. Open many hearts we pray, to accept that only the blood of the sinless Lord Jesus is good enough to pray the price of humanities sins. Help them to understand that only the righteous Son of God and the perfect Son of Man, the Lord Jesus Christ, was good enough to pay the high price required for the redemption of the world. That only His blood was could wipe away the guilt of us all.Be merciful Lord, and bring many who are unbelieving into a right relationship with Jesus, so that they too may receive the joy of Your Salvation. In Jesus' name, Amen.
O Christ Jesus, when all is darkness and we feel our weakness and helplessness, give us the sense of Your presence, Your love, and Your strength. Help us to have perfect trust in Your protecting love and strengthening power, so that nothing may frighten or worry us, for, living close to You, we shall see Your hand, Your purpose, Your will through all things.
Dear Lord Jesus, I love You Lord, and I desire that my trust remain in You alone. I want to trust You in every area of my life, and I pray that my trust in You permeates into every part of my being. Lord, I want to trust you in all things so that nothing touches my life that does not have You right there with me. Lord, help me to trust You for all that I need, my daily needs and my spiritual needs. I want to rely on You and You alone, and not put my trust in my own frail and foolish abilities, for without You I can do nothing, but I can do all things through Christ Who gives me the strength. May nothing in heaven or earth or under the earth usurp Your central position in my life, I pray. Lord, I want to trust You in every situation and every season of my life, for You have promised to take all things, whether good or evil, and use them together for good, not only for my good and the good of others, but also so that Your name may be glorified through it. Lord Jesus, I love and I trust You and my hope is founded on You alone. You are my God and Saviour, praise Your holy name.Amen.
Loving Lord, You are my confidence and my blessed assurance. You are the Rock of my salvation and the strength of my life. My hope rests in You for You are my faithful Shepherd and the Song that rejoices my heart. Thank You, that Your promises are sure and that your grace is sufficient for all my needs. Thank You, that Your mercies are new every morning, for You are a faithful God. Thank You, that You are my heavenly Father Who loves me and cares for me. Thank You that You are my precious Saviour Who died for me and gave me new life. Thank You that You are my holy Comforter who gently leads me in the path of righteousness and guides me into all truth. Loving Lord, I lay my life before You for I trust in You completely. I pray that You would continue to keep and to care, to guard and to guide, to support and to strengthen in every avenue of my life, for my trust is in You, my God and my Saviour.Amen.
Loving Lord, I know that those who trust in You have eternal life in Christ, for which we will be eternally grateful, while those that do not trust that You are the One and Only perfect Saviour, Who took the punishment for their sin, will be eternally separated from You and Lord, this is a terrible thought. Lord, I bring this person to You who is so close to death and plead Your mercy on their soul. Lord, I pray that by the power of Your Holy Spirit and in His great grace and mercy, You would draw very close to them and convict them of their sin and their need for a Saviour. Convict them Lord, of the righteousness of Christ, which alone can redeem lost sinners from eternal separation from God, and of the terrible condemnation that will fall on all who do not believe on the name of the only Begotten Son of God, Who gave His life a ransom for many. Lord, it is not Your will that any should perish, but that all should come to trust in Jesus as Saviour, who shed His life-blood for them too. Lord, I pray that whatever it takes, You would show them that it is not too late to turn to You and confess the Lord Jesus as Saviour. Oh Lord have mercy I pray. In Jesus' name, Amen.
Dear Lord, what great hope and mystery surrounds this lovely time of the year, when the body of Christ specially remembers the first advent of our Lord Jesus with such anticipation. That wonderful time when You came into the world, so many years ago, as the King of Israel and Saviour of the world. Lord, I know that it is not Your will that anyone should perish but that all should come to faith in the Lord Jesus Christ, Who alone can save a dying world, lost in trespasses and sins. Open the eyes and the hearts of those that are lost in their sins and blinded to the truth of the glorious gospel of Christ. Visit those I pray, who have not yet accepted the Lord Jesus as their Saviour. Convict those who have their attention fixed on the temporal things that are passing away. Lord, at this time of Advent when the people of the world are so busy in making preparation for a secular Christmas, I ask You to convict many hearts of their real need of Jesus Christ as their Saviour. Bring many to a deeper understanding of the real meaning of Advent and Christmas. Help them to come to realise that this is a time of hope, as we remember when the eternal God became the perfect Man, and was born as a baby to die on a cross for the sins of the world. Help them to understand that He lived His life in the shadow of the cross, so that sinful man could be forgiven, by simply believing on His name. Look down in pity on all who do not know the Lord Jesus as Saviour, and may many be saved at this time. In Jesus' name,Amen. And say: "Save us, God of our salvation; gather us and rescue us from the nations so that we may give thanks to Your holy name and rejoice in Your praise. (1 Chronicles 16:35)
Loving Father, I lift up my unbelieving husband to You and pray that You would honour my desperate pleading for his salvation, and help him I pray, to realise his need to accept Jesus as his Saviour and commit his life to You.I pray that Your Holy Spirit would convict him of his sin and the eternal consequences that he faces outside of Christ. I pray that he may come to a saving faith in Jesus and that You would fulfil the plan and purpose that You have for his life. Open his eyes I pray, and bring him into a living, vital and intimate relationship with Jesus.I pray that You would give me the grace and wisdom to live a godly life that honours You and teach me to be the sort of wife that will cause my husband to be intrigued to know You, Whom to know is life eternal.Father, I entrust his life into Your hand and pray that You would honour this heart-plea. In Jesus' name I pray,Amen.
Dear Father God, we pray for the salvation of men and women throughout our world that have not come to a saving faith in the Lord Jesus Christ. Lord, we know that it is not Your will that any one should perish but that all should come to faith in the Lord Jesus as their Saviour.Father, we lift the lost to You and pray that in Your long-suffering mercy, You would draw close to each and every one. We pray that the light of Your love would shine into their hearts, and that the truth of Your Word would convict their inner soul of their need of a Saviour.Thank You for sending Christ Jesus into the world to be born into the human race and live among us. Thank You, that He was willing to die on the cross for sinners, to give His life as a ransom for many, so as to provide salvation for all who would believe in Him as Saviour. We plead Your gracious mercy on all unbelievers today and ask that You would snatch them from the jaws of evil and bring them to saving faith in Christ. This we ask in His precious name,Amen.
Dear Lord, it is not Your will that anyone should perish but that all should come to faith in the Lord Jesus. Father, there are many hearts that are cold towards Your dear Son, for sin has infected the soul of every man and woman and yet in Your love You continue to reach out to whosoever will believe on the name of the Lord Jesus Christ for salvation. Lord, all they have to do is to trust that Jesus died to pay the price for their sins and rose again the third day, to break the power of sin and death in their life, so that all who believe may have eternal life.I pray Lord, that in Your grace and mercy, You would convict the hearts of many today of the evils of sin, of the price that the Lord Jesus paid for their sins and of the judgement of condemnation on all who do not believe in the only begotten Son of God as Saviour.Father, I pray that many souls may be convicted of their need of the Lord Jesus today, and praise You for every person that will place their trust in Him.Amen.
Father, I abandon myself into Your hands; Do with me whatever You will. Whatever You may do, I thank You. I am ready for all, I accept all. Let only Your will be done in me, And in all Your creatures. I wish no more than this, O Lord. Into Your hands I commend my spirit; I offer it to You, Lord, and so need to give myself, to surrender myself into Your hands, Without reserve and with boundless confidence, For You are my Father. Amen.
Heavenly Father, I praise and thank You for the glorious victory Christ gained through His death, burial and resurrection, breaking the power of Satan and sin in the lives of all who trust in Jesus' name and banishing death and hell forever in the lives of all who believe in Him. Father, I acknowledge that the victory is Christ's alone but thanks be to God, that by Your great grace You have given us that same wonderful victory, through our Saviour, Jesus Christ our Lord.Father, although this glorious triumph was completed 2000 years ago, nonetheless it is as potent and powerful in the lives of believers today as it was when the angels declared, "He is not here - He is risen." Keep me ever looking to Jesus, knowing that this glorious victory has not lost any of its ancient power, but is the single means of overcoming the world, the flesh and the devil, for all believers who choose to abide in Him and He in them. I pray that I will run the race that is set before me looking to Jesus, and that I may finish the course that You have given to me, as I yield through word and deed to the working of the Holy Spirit within. This I ask in Jesus' name,Amen.
Heavenly Father, how I praise and glorify You for loving a fallen sinner such as I so much, that You sent Your only begotten Son, the Lord Jesus Christ, to go through the door of death so that I could be given full and free access to the gates of heaven, by grace through faith in Him. I wholeheartedly place my faith in You Lord Jesus, and worship and praise You with my spirit, soul and body for coming to earth as a man and paying the price for my sins. When I came to understand that by rights I deserved a death sentence that You willingly took in my stead, and that the eternal Son of God was sent to earth by the Father, because there was no one else that was good enough to pay the price for sin, it blows me away.Lord, I know that there is nothing that I can do to add to Your finished work on the cross, but I pray that by faith and in the power of the Holy Spirit, I may present my life as a living sacrifice and thank offering to You, for Your goodness and grace to me, a sinner saved by God's grace. May I never forget the great price that You paid for my sins and give me I pray, a heart to love You more and a faith that stands firm in the truth of Your Word. This I ask in the name of Jesus Christ my Saviour,Amen.
Loving Lord Jesus, You have loved me even though I have not loved You. I admit that I am a sinner and I know that there is no other way to have my many sins forgiven except through Your blood, that was shed at Calvary.I believe that You died for me and that You took all the punishment for my sins that I justly deserve. Lord, I repent of all my sins and pray that You would forgive me all my trespasses. Please come into my life. I receive You as my Saviour for You promised that as many as receive You and believe on Your name, You will give the right to become sons of God. Lord, I believe and want to follow You as My Lord and Saviour, from this day forward.Thank You for hearing my prayer. In Jesus' name,Amen.
Dear Heavenly Father, I come to You pleading for You to restore my soul, revive my heart and lead me along the right path for the future, for so much in life has become a disappointment and I know that I have strayed far from You. Thank You, Lord, for reminding me that my citizenship is in heaven and that the things of this world will only cause me disappointments and distress. Help me to hold lightly to the things of this world and it's enticing possessions, but keep my heart focussed on Jesus, knowing that He will never disappoint me or fail me. Refresh my weary soul I pray, and may I be like a tree that has been planted by the flowing rivers of life. May I sink my roots deeply into You Lord Jesus, knowing that my hope is in You alone. Fill me I pray, with all hope and joy, and may I draw ever closer to You. In Jesus' name I pray, Amen.
Dear God, I dont know what to do any more. I have been addicted to porn for so many years and I just hate my life. I have hurt so many people that I care about and I know that I cant go on any more, or at least I dont want to keep on in this life-style, but I dont know what to do or how to break free.Someone told me that Jesus was the only way that I could break my life of pornography, but I dont know how. Lord if You are willing, I pray that You would help me and show me how to break free of this disgusting life-style, which I feel it is a trap into which I keep falling.I believe Lord. I believe that You died to pay the price for sin. I believe that You died to pay the price for my sins and I truly believe that it includes the sin of pornography as well as everything else.Lord, I am willing to put my life into Your hands and ask that You would lead and direct me in the way to break this terrible habit. Help me day by day and moment by moment to keep my eyes looking to Jesus, and Lord, when that inner urge starts to stir, I pray that in Your mercy Your Holy Spirit would prompt my soul, so that I will grab hold of that thought and hand it right over to You. Help me to turn from every evil stirring within and start to focus on what Jesus did on the cross, to pay the price for my sins. Lord, I do believe that You can help me. I pray that You would enable me to break this habit and start to learn what true fulfilment is. In Jesus' name I pray,Amen.
Father, we pray that You would be very close to all our brothers and sisters in Christ in these troublesome times, which are causing so many hearts to fail within, for fear of what is coming on the world. Thank You, that no matter how far apart we may be, we are all part of Your family and all have been redeemed by the blood of Christ and made eternally secure in Him. We ask that Your perfect peace would flood into each troubled heart, and that they may be prompted to turn to Jesus as their ever-present help in time of trouble, so that they may not to be overwhelmed by the trials and tribulations that they are facing.Turn the trials and difficulties of each one into a time when they discover a deeper intimacy with You, so that each heart may be flooded with Your perfect peace. Your beautiful peace, which is beyond our comprehension, but which is promised to all, who by prayer and supplication look to Jesus, and make their requests known to Him. May each one confidently cast all their cares upon Him, knowing that He cares for each one of his own. Encourage and strengthen all Your blood-bought children and may they find a deep assurance in Your precious promises, no matter what fiery trials they may be facing today. May they embrace their trials knowing that the extent to which they are called to partake of Christs sufferings is a measure of the exceeding great joy that is set before them in heavenly places. In Jesus' name we pray,Amen.
Father in Heaven, ever-living source of all that is good, keep me faithful in serving You. Help me to drink of Christ's Truth, and fill my heart with His Love so that I may serve You in faith and love and reach eternal life. In the Sacrament of the Eucharist You give me the joy of sharing Your Life. Keep me in Your presence. Let me never be separated from You and help me to do Your Will.
Dear Lord, how we praise and thank You, and worship You for Your greatest of all gifts, in sending the Lord Jesus to be our Saviour and Friend and for dying in our place on the cross, to pay the price for our sins.Thank You that when two or three are gathered together in Your name You are there in our midst. And thank You Father, for the many blessings that You shower over each one of us day by day. Give us grateful hearts and a willingness and desire to share with others the grace and mercy that You have showered on us day by day, without measure. Help us Lord, to demonstrate Your great love and grace to all those that cross our paths today. May we be ready and willing to be faithful witnesses of You and to give an answer for what we believe, so that many may also come to know You and to accept Jesus as their own personal Saviour and friend, because they saw Him in us. Help us to edify and uplift other members of Your body and in all things to be Your hands and feet, Your eyes and ears and Your heart of love in all we say and do today. In Jesus' name, Amen.
Dear Father, it is not always easy to think positively when we are surrounded by trials and tribulation and when our bodies are racked with arthritic pain. But I trust in Your unfailing love and grace and ask that You would be with me today, and help me to rejoice in the Lord always, knowing thatYouare my God and Saviour, Who died so that I might have life everlasting. Keep me looking to Jesus, and trusting in His strength and grace to overcome any pain. When I consider that I once was lost but now am found, I bless You that my salvation is secure and I have a home and inheritance, kept for me in heavenly places.
Dear St. Dymphna, you gave us an example in your own life of firm faith. Neither flattery, earthly rewards nor the threat of death caused you to waver in your fidelity to God. Please help us then, amid the uncertainties of life, to imitate your wholehearted dedication to Christ. Be good enough to come to our aid in our need, and pray for us to God. Amen.
Good St. Dymphna, you placed all your hope in Christ's promises, and sacrificed even your life in that hope. The Lord, God, rewarded your constancy by making your name known and loved over many centuries by the thousands whom you have aided in time of difficulty. Please assist us now in our present necessity, and intercede before God for our intentions. Obtain for us a firm hope like your own in God's unfailing protection. Amen.
Heavenly Father, I cling to You knowing that my heart feels dry and empty as if my hope is draining away, but I thank You that You are there for me in times of trouble and distress, and I pray that You would hold me fast during this period when all hope seems to be evaporating away.Lord, I know that Your promises are true and that You are with us in the midst of our troubles and trials, our fears and failings and our doubts and difficulties, our brokenness and our bitterness. Help me to cling fast to Your promises, to rest in Your love, to rekindle my hope and to rebuild my joy and my strength in the Lord.Lord, I believe that losing my hope in You is really a temptation of the enemy, so help I pray, not to lose heart but help me to remember that in Christ I am being renewed day by day by the power of Your Holy Spirit. Help me not to try to rely on myself but to let go and allow You to work Your will in my life.Develop in me strength for today and bright hope for tomorrow, knowing that Your mercies, grace strength and hope are new everymorning, for which I praise Your holy name. In Jesus' name,Amen.
1 [For the choirmaster Psalm Of David] In you, Yahweh, I have taken refuge, let me never be put to shame, in your saving justice deliver me, rescue me, 2 turn your ear to me, make haste. Be for me a rock-fastness, a fortified citadel to save me. 3 You are my rock, my rampart; true to your name, lead me and guide me! 4 Draw me out of the net they have spread for me, for you are my refuge; 5 to your hands I commit my spirit, by you have I been redeemed. God of truth, 6 you hate those who serve useless idols; but my trust is in Yahweh: 7 I will delight and rejoice in your faithful love! You, who have seen my misery, and witnessed the miseries of my soul, 8 have not handed me over to the enemy, but have given me freedom to roam at large. 9 Take pity on me, Yahweh, for I am in trouble. Vexation is gnawing away my eyes, my soul deep within me. 10 For my life is worn out with sorrow, and my years with sighs. My strength gives way under my misery, and my bones are all wasted away. 11 The sheer number of my enemies makes me contemptible, loathsome to my neighbours, and my friends shrink from me in horror. When people see me in the street they take to their heels. 12 I have no more place in their hearts than a corpse, or something lost. 13 All I hear is slander -- terror wherever I turn -- as they plot together against me, scheming to take my life. 14 But my trust is in you, Yahweh; I say, 'You are my God,' 15 every moment of my life is in your hands, rescue me from the clutches of my foes who pursue me; 16 let your face shine on your servant, save me in your faithful love. 17 I call on you, Yahweh, so let disgrace fall not on me, but on the wicked. Let them go down to Sheol in silence, 18 muzzles on their lying mouths, which speak arrogantly against the upright in pride and contempt. 19 Yahweh, what quantities of good things you have in store for those who fear you, and bestow on those who make you their refuge, for all humanity to see. 20 Safe in your presence you hide them, far from human plotting, shielding them in your tent, far from contentious tongues. 21 Blessed be Yahweh who works for me miracles of his faithful love (in a fortified city)! 22 In a state of terror I cried, 'I have been cut off from your sight!' Yet you heard my plea for help when I cried out to you. 23 Love Yahweh, all his faithful: Yahweh protects his loyal servants, but he repays the arrogant with interest. 24 Be brave, take heart, all who put your hope in Yahweh.
Precious Lord, I feel that my heart is breaking, as I have found that my spouse has been unfaithful to me. The pain is so deep and I just feel numbed by everything that has happened. Father, I have come to realise that strictly speaking there is no guilty party, for when a marriage falls apart some of the blame must lie at each of our doors, for allowing our relationship to become stale or for being too busy or disinterested to notice that we were drifting part.Forgive me, Lord, for my part in our deteriorating marriage and help me also to forgive as You forgave me, unconditionally and with such deep love.Help us Lord I pray, to rebuild our life together, to build up the broken fragments of the love we once had for each other and to start afresh without fear of blame and in newness of love. May we both be prepared to listen to Your voice of correction and instruction, and take to heart Your words of kindness and forgiveness. Amen.
Heavenly Father, I lift up each of my grandchildren to You, and thank You for each life that is so special in Your sight. Lord, I pray that each one will come to know Christ as Saviour early in their lives, and desire a close walk with You through their teens and twenties and into adulthood.May they learn to love Your Word and to come to know the value of prayer in their lives, so that they grow up into men and women that live godly in Christ Jesus.Lord, I pray that all of us who have a touch on these young lives, will teach them day by day about the Lord Jesus and the wonderful truths in Your Word, both in word and by example, just as the mother and grandmother of Timothy taught him the truth of the Word of God. Guide each of my precious grandchildren into all truth, and bring them into true saving faith I pray. For You have promised that children that are brought up in the way that they should go will not depart from it as they grow older.Keep each one I pray, under the shadow of Your protection and love, and may they grow in grace and discernment and wisdom throughout their lives. Use each one in Your service I pray, to Your praise and glory. In Jesus' name,Amen.
Loving Lord, I am filled with grief and sadness at the loss of my precious loved one, and yet that pain is tinged with gold, knowing that they trusted you as their Saviour and that they are now in Your presence. I know that I am going to miss this precious one, who has been my strength and my joy for so long, and thank You for the wonderful times we had together. Often Lord, I expect my dear one to just be there, or walk through the door - and then I remember that they have gone home to be with You. At times this is quite hard and yet I know that I do not have to grieve as those that have not hope in Jesus, but rejoice knowing that the day is coming when we will be together with You and You will wipe away all tears from our eyes. But at the moment Lord, my loss is like an open wound and I pray that You will heal my brokenness and the loneliness I feel. Draw me ever closer into Your arms of love, my Lord and my God. Thank You for all You are to me and may I rest in You. In Jesus name, Amen.
Dear Lord, I am sick and have cancer and I am so worried and concerned knowing that my life seems so fragile. I pray that You will give me Your peace in my heart and lift the weight of worry that has been weighing me down, since I discovered that I am sick. But Lord, I know that You are an amazing God. You took all the punishment for sin upon Your body on the Tree and by Your stripes we are healed in every area of life. I ask You to equip me for what lies ahead.I pray that my faith may be rooted and grounded on You alone, and that I am enabled to take up the shield of faith so that I trust my life entirely into Your hands. Thank You for the sword of the spirit, which is the Word of God and for the many precious promises of Your love and care that are found within its pages. Give me grace to cast my care on You knowing that I am safe in the hands of Jesus.I also pray that You will guard and protect my family, and the lives of all I love, knowing that this cancer is a daunting prospect for each of them too.Thank You that my times are in Your hands, and thank You Lord for Your peace that passes all understanding.Amen.
Father God, I have never seen a more critical time in my business career than I have witnessed over the past few months. There seem to be more and more people facing financial hardship and little businesses are finding themselves in a position that the door on an established family businesses that has been seen many generations come and go are increasingly having to close their doors. Lord, though sadness fills my heart when I witness so many people in this devastating position, whatever the reason for this economic failure, I am trusting in You and You alone.Words fail me Father, but what a blessing to be able to pray through the prayer that Habakkuk the prophet brought before You, so many centuries ago, and yet the words seem to be so relevant to the difficulties that so many are facing today;"My heart is pounding and my lips quiver, decay creeps into my bones, and my legs tremble at what is happening. Yet I will wait patiently for the Lord. Though the fig tree does not bud and there are no grapes on the vines, though the olive crop fails and the fields produce no food, though there are no sheep in the pen and no cattle in the stalls. Yet I will rejoice in the Lord, I will be joyful in God my Saviour. The Sovereign Lord is my strength."Praise Your holy name!Amen.
Loving Lord, Your Word is a lamp to our feet and a light to our path and today we are living in a time that seems be so very dark and difficult for many people. Lord, we are facing a time of economic crises that is affecting multitudes of men and women. So many are out of work with little expectation of a position becoming available in the foreseeable future. We need You Lord to be that Lamp to our feet and that Light to our path.Lord, I lift up all my brothers and sisters that are facing joblessness and financial hardship as a result of being out of work, and pray that You will hold each one steady in Your arms of love and provide for all their needs. And though the enemy will seek to sift many as wheat, as was the apostle Peter, we pray may Your Word will be the Lamp of hope that illuminates their path and encourages their hearts. Father, be with each one of Your children today, for our hope is in You alone. Lord, we trust You in all things because You are sovereign and have control of all things. And even though we do not understand all that is happening in this dark and dreary world, we know and trust You, for You alone are worthy of our trust. Be with each one and rescue us Lord, from all that is coming on the earth, I pray.Amen.
O God, today I begin an experiment in seeking peace. You have so much to say about peace in the Bible that I know it is your will for all men to be at peace. In knowing Your will, O God, I am encouraged to press through all opposition, so that your will might be fulfilled in me.Help me, I pray, to stop excusing my attitudes and actions. I alone am responsible for what I do today.Help me to forget the errors of yesterday while I live to the fullest today, to Your glory. Help me not to be anxious about tomorrow but to be assured that by living today within the will of God, tomorrow shall be even better than today.I do now commit myself to You Lord, trusting You for the needs of today. In Jesus' name,Amen.
