King David was known as "a man after God's own heart." David loved God, lived with passion and prayed with poetic and transparent honesty. But David was also a sinner. He stole the wife of one of his most loyal soldiers, conceived a child by her and then to cover his deceit, murdered the man. But once this crime was exposed by Nathan, the prophet, David turned again to God. His prayer asking for forgiveness is written in the Bible as Psalm 51. Here's a portion of that prayer. O loving and kind God, have mercy. Have pity upon me and take away the awful stain of my transgressions. Oh, wash me, cleanse me from this guilt. Let me be pure again. For I admit my shameful deed-it haunts me day and night. It is against you and you alone I sinned and did this terrible thing. You saw it all, and your sentence against me is just. Create in me a new, clean heart, O God, filled with clean thoughts and right desires. Don't toss me aside, banished forever from your presence. Don't take Your Holy Spirit from me. Restore to me again the joy of your salvation, and make me willing to obey you. (Psalm 51:1-12 TLB) All of us need forgiveness. If something is separating you from God, repeat this ancient prayer. O Lord, Jesus Christ, Redeemer and Saviour, forgive my sins, just as You forgave Peter's denial and those who crucified You. Count not my transgressions, but, rather, my tears of repentance. Dear Lord Jesus, I am sorry that I have been naughty and disobeyed my parents. I know I should listen to them but sometimes I don�t want to and then I get into trouble. I don�t want to disobey, but sometimes I do and I know that it makes them mad, and then they are mad with me and I am mad back at them.Dear Jesus, please forgive me for disobeying and help me to listen to my parents next time and to do what they tell me to do. Father, the weight of my sins weigh heavily on my conscience and I know that there is no righteousness in me. I come to You pleading for Your great mercy, and repent of all the many sins that I have committed against You so grievously. Lord, the Church has lost its way as it is seeking strategies to build denomination bridges and interfaith uniformity, at the expense of growing in true godly unity, and developing a Oneness in the Body of Christ, which reflects the unity between God Father and His beloved Son, the precious oneness You so desired in the Church, which is His body. Forgive us Lord, for the lack of Christian unity and the lack of love we have towards our brothers and sisters in Christ. Forgive us that the visible church seems to have lost its witness to Christ and has compromised the truth of the gospel of grace for a social agenda to make the world into a kingdom of peace, without the Price of Peace at the helm. Build up Your people O God, into a sanctified body, a fellowship of believers, a people set apart from the world to serve You in newness of life and living in gracious union one with the other. May we learn to pursue after all that leads to godliness and shed abroad in our hearts a the nature and character of love that only comes from You, so that we may become channels through whom the love of Christ flows to others in need. Teach us to love each other as You loved us, and help us to grow in grace and in a godly unity, as directed by the Holy Spirit, unto our lives end. In Jesus' name we pray, Amen.

Loving Father and heavenly Lord, I know that prayer is simply the breath of helplessness being nourished on the bosom of the Father. And so Lord, I come to You lifting up the many men and women that have such a struggle with the bitterness and anger that lurks deep within their soul, and who are helpless to deal with this disease without You Lord. Father, You alone are the one that can address their need and sever the root of their anger, for it is only as one abides in Christ that the fruit of His Holy Spirit can grow and displace the ugliness of anger and bitterness within. Bring those that do not know the Lord Jesus as Saviour into a saving faith in Him, so that they can know that their sins are forgiven forever and that You paid the price of all. And for those that know You as Saviour, I pray that they come to understand that it is only as we yield to Your Spirit and admit our inabilities to deal with the fruit of evil in our heart, that You will guide us into the paths of righteousness, unforgiveness and love. Lord Jesus, I have sinned before You and committed adultery. Forgive me Lord for winking at my own sin while I was gratifying my fleshly lusts. I repent of my wrong actions and foolish choices and confess that I have sinned against You.. and have caused deep distress, not only to my spouse but to the wider family as well. Heavenly Father, we lift up all those women and mothers whose hearts are aching because of their decision to have an abortion and who are now riddled with guilt, because of their choices.We also lift up those whose freely chose to abort their babies, based on their own selfish attitude, thinking that a baby in their life would spoil the prearranged plans they had made or inhibit their desired destiny.We pray Your mercy and forgiveness over each one and ask that in a very special way You would come alongside each woman who has made a decision to terminate their pregnancy. Meet each one at their very point of need.Comfort those that are grieving, support those that are weak and convict those that have rejected the sacredness of a human life. Bring each one we pray, to a saving faith in the Lord Jesus, and an assurance of Your gracious forgiveness. Dear Lord, my childhood was not the happy time that I would have liked it to be and my parents were certainly not the ideal example of parenthood, but Lord, I know that in their way they tried to do their best for us, but it always seemed to go sour. Thank You, Lord, that in Your grace, You lifted me out of this difficult and abusive family life to faith in Jesus. I praise You every day that You found me and brought me into Your family. Lord, I bring my parents to You. Life seems to have passed them by and they need to know Jesus as their Saviour. Lord, I know that You died for them as well and forgave every sin they have committed, for You are a gracious and loving God. I too want to forgive them for all that they did to me. I forgive both my parents, and thank You that in Your grace, You are taking me through a process of healing all the hurt and pain that I had to go through.�Bless them both, dear Lord Jesus, and I pray that both of them will come to know You as their Saviour. Loving Father God, I come to You today to lift up my father in prayer. Lord, You know better than anyone else how difficult and abusive he was towards me and towards others as well. You know the suffering, pain and ridicule that I had to endure at his hands, for so many years. My hurt and anger towards him is tinged with pity and sadness, because we were not able to have the sort of loving relationship that a child should have with his father, and this is of great sadness to me. I know Lord, that in his own way he tried to do his best, but he was so eaten up with bitterness and anger that he was unable to express it in any other way. Forgive my father I pray, and help me to forgive him as well, truly to forgive him and not to hold any resentment against him, for I know that is not only destructive to me but has ongoing repercussions with those I love. Forgive my father Lord and heal him, and I pray that one day he may come to hear that Christ died to pay the price for his own sins and rose again to break the power of death in the life of all that believe. Heavenly Father, how I bless and thank You for the goodness, grace and forgiveness that You have extended to me. Loving Lord, please help me to let go of all the disappointments of the past and to forgive those that have hurt and disappointed me so deeply. Keep me from all bitterness Lord. I know that I am holding resentment in my heart, and that this is destructive to my own peace and my relationship with You. Lord, I am finding forgiveness so very difficult. Help me I pray. Lord, I know that only in Your strength can I truly forgive those who have hurt me in the way that Christ forgives me. I understand that I can only forgive others as I allow the forgiveness of Christ to flow through me. He even said, �Father forgive�, to those that crucified Him on the cross, so help me to forgive in that same way, I pray. Loving Lord, I know in my heart that forgiveness is a choice that I have to make. Help me to make the right choice. Help me to choose to let forgiveness flood my heart, so that I am not nursing grievances within, and so that healing of my own heart can start to take place. I ask this in the name of Jesus, Amen.
Father God, thank You that You are the One that pardons guilty sinners, like me who are unworthy to so much as approach Your perfect righteousness. By rights, I should be excluded from Your presence forever, for I am guilty of so many of my sins and should stand condemned and exposed before You, who is a perfect and holy God. And yet in Your grace and mercy, You reached down from heaven to save a guilty sinner and sent Jesus to die on the cross so that by believing on Him, I would not perish but have everlasting life.Thank You, Lord, for Jesus, Thank You for dying on the cross and shedding Your blood for me. As I kneel before Thee on the Cross, most loving Saviour of my soul, my conscience reproaches me for having nailed Thee to that cross with these hands of mine, as often as I have fallen into mortal sin, wearying Thee with my monstrous ingratitude. I offer the Eternal Father all the pains and love of Thy most holy Humanity, and I pray unto Thee for grace to weep over my transgressions with burning tears, and to enable me to persevere in the good which I have begun, without ever swerving again from my obedience to the commandments of my God. To The Fifth Wound, of the Sacred Side O Lord Jesus Christ, I adore the sacred Wound in Thy side; I compassionate Thee for the cruel insult Thou didst suffer. I thank Thee, my Jesus, for the love which suffered Thy side and Heart to be pierced, so that the last drops of blood and water might issue forth, making my redemption to abound. I offer to the Eternal Father this outrage, and the love of Thy most holy Humanity, that my soul may enter once for all into that most loving Heart, eager and ready to receive the greatest sinners, and never more depart. Lord to my shame I have committed adultery, broken my marriage vows.. both to You and to my spouse and caused untold pain � and I am so sorry Lord and repent of all my sin and the evil consequences of my fleshy weakness. Lord I confess that I am weak in this area, but that is no excuse and I ask that in the power of the Holy Spirit You would help me to turn right away from this gross and evil sexual sin. Help me to overcome temptation and not to fall prey to the enticements of flesh lusts. Help me to run from sexual sin as the Bible says, and to break free from any sexual soul-ties that I have made - and keep me I pray, from being tempted to make any further contact. I ask that You would help me to resist all temptation and to help me make a complete break with this ungodly part of my life. Purify my heart I pray and enable me to turn away forever from this fleshly weakness � which I know must be called for what it is � ungodly sexual sin - adultery. Help me to no longer live for my own gratification but rather I pray that I may be enabled to change my whole behaviour towards my spouse - and live in marriage union with my spouse, as You have outlined in Your Word. Give us both fresh, new love for each other and may this evil that I have done not become a stumbling-block in our marriage but the start of a new closer fellowship with each other - and with You. This I ask in Jesus name, Amen
Heavenly Father, thank You that You are quick to forgive. Thank You, that You have removed our sins as far as the east is from the west. Right now, Lord, we ask of You mercy and compassion, and we implore the forgiveness of sins. In Jesus' name,Amen.
